40 Brain Breaks

Hi, This is Art Lieberman. I teach middle school in Texas.

It's a lot of fun.

What used to be very stressful got much easier when I found brain breaks. Brain breaks are short activities that you use to interrupt students when they are losing focus or getting mentally exhausted.

They work great.

What I do is print them up and put them where I can get to them when I need them. That might be when I am writing lesson plans, or it might be when I'm in the middle of a lesson and realize that I need one.

You'll find four different kinds represented here: 1) mental challenges, 2) physical movement 3) in seat movement 4) group cooperation.

I think that the best way to use them is to do them with the class.

I know you and your students will have fun with these.
